Surfside Beach & Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

We always plan for a week's family vacation every year. This year, we have decided to go to South Carolina. We have an RCI Timeshare and we love it. We can go online and look for places we want to go. Of course, before we go, we would look online at the pictures of each resort, especially the pictures of the unit itself, the resort amenities, how far is the resort from the beach and most important, we read reviews. We read all the reviews and then weigh things out. If the majority of the reviews were good then we feel comfortable booking for that resort, however, if there is more than three bad reviews, we try to dig deeper. We don't want to spoil our vacation!

We went to Deerfield Plantation Resort less than a mile from the Surfside Beach. We love the unit and we love the amenities. They have a mini water park which is awesome for children and adults, not to mention a separate lap pool, another pool that hosts dinners, dancing and singing at night and the Luau too. Well, I don't want to let you feel that I am paid to give this good review for the place.... because I'm not! Too bad isn't it? Anyway, it shows I enjoyed that place and if you are planning to go next summer, well, you'll like it. The only thing is that it's not "beachfront."

I like the Surfside Beach because it is more relaxed and less populated than Myrtle Beach. It has a good community and very well kept. We went fishing on the pier and had tons of fun. We saw a handful of stingrays and jelly fish - that's why we did not swim- we just let the waves go and give us a little splash every now and then.
